dance            a collaborative PEARL workshop

A dance workshop in which daughters at the art museum perform for and with their incarcerated mothers, while their mothers dance at Estrella Jail.  The two sites are connected virtually through a live video feed.  Both the mothers and the daughters will take a series of dance classes prior to the virtually-connected dance workshop. The mother are participants in the Journey Home Project and their daughters in the Girl Scouts Beyond Bars program.  The Mother Daughter Distance Dance will be led by choreographer Elizabeth Johnson and dancer Teniqua Broughton.   Public access to the gallery during this activity is as yet undetermined.
